After the Kentucky Plan fails, activists redouble their efforts to employ opioid settlement funds to examine marijuana addiction in Ohio.

Proponents of psychedelic drugs are refocusing their attempts to apply millions in opioid-related state settlement funds for narcotic study from Kentucky to Ohio.

After the state’s new attorney general replaced then-Kievan Opioid Commission Chairman Bryan Hubbard, who was leading the ibogaine initiative, with a former Drug Enforcement Administration ( DEA ) official, the original plan to use$ 42 million from the Kentucky opioid settlement fund for psychedelics research fell through late last year.

Hubbard has now joined ResultsOHIO, a division of the Ohio Treasurer’s Office, where he will collaborate with the Reaching Everyone in Distress ( REID ) Foundation to raise money for psychedelic clinical trials for the treatment of substance abuse.

In a press release, Hubbard said,” I’m honored to work with the REID Foundation and the people of Ohio to provide hope and treatment to soldiers and people being torn apart by the narcotic crisis.” It is morally imperative that drug be developed as a treatment option for people who are dependent on opioids.

In order to discuss the drug program, which has since failed in that position under the new attorney general, a Kentucky payment focused on opioid overdose removal held some meetings last year. People listened to witnesses
