Virginia Bill Heads To Governor’s Desk To Protect Public Workers From Being Fired For Medical Marijuana- Cbdganjah

A Senate-passed costs to shield public sector workers from termination for using marijuana illegally has been approved by the Virginia House of Delegates.

Sen. Stella Pekarsky’s ( D) legislation was passed by the House on Friday, with an 80-to-18 vote, and sent to the governor. The country’s health cannabis employment laws for public employees would be in line with those already in place for the private sector if they were passed into law.

But, the legislation especially exempts law enforcement personnel from the safeguards.

Additionally, it states that businesses are not prohibited by law from taking legal action against workers who are intoxicated while performing their duties or who have cannabis on their property.

It was approved to pass a separate act to protect public sector employees from medical marijuana job.
